About Us

The Choir Factor is a family run business founded in 2009 by Musical Director Esther Bettis. Our choirs perform Pop Rock, Motown and Gospel classics from the ’60s through to the present day from a whole host of artists including Adele, Jess Glynne, Bruno Marrs, Ed Sheeran, U2, Queen and Charlie Puth to name but a few.

Becoming a member of The Choir Factor is a great social experience and a fantastic opportunity to sing with a group of like-minded people. It is also an excellent way to unwind at the end of a stressful day singing along to the songs that you know and love. Membership gives you the chance to perform these individual arrangements at local events throughout the year and as a finale at our annual end of year shows. Our 2023 show, was held at The Gloucester Guildhall on Saturday 2nd December. Our members took to the stage and performed to friends, family and members of the general public some of the numbers that we have become known for this past 12 years and a few brand new arrangements as well.

About Esther

The Choir Factor’s Musical Director and Founder, Esther Bettis has been a music teacher for over 20 years as well as being an accomplished pianist. Her early career was spent as a piano teacher in Surrey which continued when she moved to Gloucestershire in 2003.

Esther had always dreamed of starting up her own contemporary pop/gospel style choir so at the end of 2007 she started to prepare her plan.

The following year she started her first choir at her children’s school which was open to the teachers, school governors and parents. The choir very quickly started to grow in numbers as the word spread and the choir performed at various school events, Gloucester Cathedral and finally, a show to raise funds for the school and Winstons Wish at a local theatre.

The following year Esther wanted to open up the availability to sing and perform in a contemporary pop choir to a wider audience which was when The Choir Factor was launched.
